The History of Our Brand Resonance Approach

Brand resonance is the key at the heart of what I do.

To understand how I arrived at that conclusion and how it transformed by life and business, let's go back in time to 2012.



I had just graduated with my BFA in Graphic Design. My friends and I were all ready to hit the ground running and “change the world”. Hyperbolic? Absolutely. But that’s what being 22 is like.

We thought we could build anything we set our sights on: startups, products, apps, you name it.

Over the next few years those dreams came true for a few of us. But by a big margin most of us had failed to get their grand idea off the ground.

I'd started freelancing for friends and small businesses outside the hours of my corporate design job. Again it was the same: people with great ideas and truly valuable services couldn't achieve the sustainability to stay afloat.

The reason: they couldn't connect with their ideal customers.

Why? When they went to market, all of their communication focused on what they did and not why it mattered to their audience.

It became clear that when you show your customers what you stand for, why you made the leap to turn a passion into a business, and why you want to help specifically them, you form an authentic bond with them.

They absorb your story, your presence, your offer and see that you share their own hopes and dreams.

They see themselves becoming a better person through your help.

You're not a hero saving them from their struggles, you help them become the hero of their own story.

I call this effect Brand Resonance.

I constantly see entrepreneurs, marketers, and designers focusing on tactics, trends, and flashy aesthetics. They focus entirely on style and forget the substance. They fail to resonate.

That's why I make Brand Resonance the main focus of my design business.

I believe the better I can help people communicate their brand story in the language of their customers (both visual and textual) the more I can help great ideas make an impact on the world.

Too many great ideas fail to make their impact on the world because of misplaced focus.

I'm going to try my hardest to change that fact.
